The owner of this Salt Lake City Avenues home hired CK Builders for a major remodel and addition.

During demolition, we uncovered four previous additions, along with evidence of past fire damage. After reviewing the pros and cons with the homeowner, we collectively decided to remove all previous construction, preserving only three exterior brick walls to maintain the existing setbacks. CK Builders then stripped the home down to its core—removing trusses, walls, basement floors, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and more—before beginning new construction. Collaborating with designer Heather McKell of McKell Designs, we reimagined the home with a fresh approach. The new design brings exterior elements indoors, integrates principles of Feng Shui, and incorporates personal touches throughout private spaces.

A new upper-level master suite was added, featuring a spacious sitting area with a fireplace, private balcony, dedicated work area, luxurious custom bathroom, expansive walk-in closet with abundant storage, and a private wing that includes a laundry area, clothes steamer with folding station, personal sauna, and additional storage.
The main floor boasts an open-concept layout, including two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an office, dining area, sitting area, breakfast nook, and a professional-grade kitchen. The basement offers generous storage space in the laundry room, a large entertainment area, kitchenette, full bathroom, and three additional bedrooms.
The homes exterior incorporates the existing brick façade with low maintenance exterior finishes such as cement fiber siding, GAF solar shingles and standing seam roofing, Alside triple pane windows, custom oak front door, and a large Trex deck complete with a Bullfrog spa.
